Our First Victory - Ecology
pressured to extend public hearings to
August 31st.
-
Our Message: Hell No!
It is our right as citizens to be secure
in our property.
-
Our Second (potential) Victory
- Ecology says it will remove metering
language WRIA 25 (any changes have yet
to be verified) of the proposed addition
to the code WAC 173-525 new section.
-
What's at stake: The
economic viability of rural families
across Washington State.

right to require new and existing water
users to install, maintain, and report data
from a measuring device (water meter)..."

Meeting Summary Ken Morse, OTP
New The meeting location & time were
as inconvenient to the public as possible
yet angry citizens filled the room to
protest a proposed expansion of Ecology's
power to regulate water use include
"reserving the right" to meter private
wells.
-
At the meeting we learned that there is
no shortage of water in these
watersheds - which only
raised questions as to
why Ecology wants metering languane &
new power to regulate.
-
Ecology denied any intent to meter
private wells.
-
From the discussion, it appears Ecology
intends to reserve 99% of the watersheds
water for salmon recovery with
apparently no new allocations for
people.
-
Also very troubling - Ecology's proposal
initially allocated only about 27 new
homes would be permitted in each
watershed over about a 6-year period!
Ecology admitted this was
ridiculous.
-
In a press release earlier in the day
Ecology claimed it will remove the water
meter language from their proposal but
specific language altering the proposed
new WAC 173-525 has not been released.
-
WAC 173-525 is not adopted in rule, yet.
-
Citizens
wishing to oppose the proposed rule
changes have until the end of August.
Only one more meeting in Lewis County
has been scheduled by Ecology at this
time.
-
Special note - Ecology claims only 200
citizens attended the meeting in Morton
last month but a knowledgeable Morton
resident counted 450 outraged citizens
filling the bleachers and spilling out
on the floor in the Morton High School
gym. If Ecology cannot correctly
estimate how many people attend their
meetings perhaps they should not be put
in charge of any sort of water
allocations...
-
The proposed rule is 173-525 WAC
"Water Resources management program for
the Grays-Elochoman Basin, WRIA 25.
(and also WRIA 26 for Cowlitz County)
-
In light of the continuing public outrage
at
Ecology's meetings we urge Ecology to
extend the comment period through
February of 2010.

DiDomenico Owner of Skyhawks Private Baseball Park in
Lacey, Joe shared his story of how the
City of Lacey with $90-Million taxpayer
funding built a competing ballpark across
the street from his family owned ballpark.
Abridging his freedom of speech the WA Dept.
of Transportation forced him to remove long
standing signs on the pretext they would
loose Federal Funds. The Governor's
office was unhelpful. The government
run ballpark remains uncooperative.

Alex Rion Conservative activist
& Campaign for
Liberty leader explained the link between local
policies and Washington
D.C. The Federal Government takes
taxpayer money, skims about 20% off for
Pork, then sends the rest back to the States
in the form of "block grants" which come
with strings attached as new regulations.
For instance: the Dept. of Ecology is
pushing to install water meters on private
wells under the pretext that "we don't want
to loose Federal funds..." This is how
the "the money trail" works
all the way from D.C. to your doorstep.

Restore the 2/3 Vote to Raise
YOUR Taxes!

Washington D.C. will spend
$31,406 of your money per household in 2010!
They
will collect only $18,267 in taxes (if all
goes well) and go begging to China and other
foreign nations to fund the $13,139
difference. This is unsustainable
spending by everyone's estimations!

The Olympia Tea Party does NOT support
violent behavior, violent speech or threats
of violence or disrespect of any kind toward
our elected or appointed officials. We
may disagree with their policies but we
respect their position of authority and the
rule of law. We call upon all citizens
to monitor their own speech and act with
dignity and respect. We all have a
right to disagree and debate (even loudly)
but none of us have a right to suggest
violent behavior.
Our policy on
working with other groups is that of
communication & cooperation, even with
groups with differing approaches.
We seek to work with all groups whether
small or large on the basis of principles
instead of politics. Our issues
are 1) fiscal responsibility 2)
Constitutional government and 3) Free Markets.
The Olympia Tea Party does NOT boycotted other tea party groups.
When a disagreement arises we seek to
communicate and if necessary offer to meet
and resolve differences. If the other
group decides not to resolve
an issue, we
continue to work toward our shared
goals along parallel paths.

We disagreed
with Bush's overspending and abandoning
free market principles in 2008. We
disagree with Nancy
Pelosi's
overspending and abandoning transparent
government. We care
about our children and don't want to leave them
with Pelosi's unsustainable debt. We
do agree
with Hillary Clinton when she said "We are
Americans and we have the right to debate
and disagree with any administration"
